DENTSU CREATIVE - BRAND STRATEGY DIRECTOR

10 MONTHS

- Pitch wins, big plans, and a global launch… 

FIRST THERE WAS HALFORDS...

The brief was to integrate Halfords’ motor and cycling divisions under a single creative platform. My answer was smart, targeted influencer partnerships designed to engage and unite both communities. It worked; my pitch successfully secured Dentsu Halfords’ business.

THEN THEY ASKED ME BACK FOR SAILOR JERRY...

Sailor Jerry’s social presence was in need of diversifying. So I put together a detailed strategy across paid, owned, and earned channels including content recommendations, with three goals in mind: reach the right people, increase the brand’s market share, and sell more products.

AND MY LATEST WIN FOR THEM WAS BT BUSINESS...

When BT for Business wanted to relaunch on social aiming to reach new audiences, I led the efforts. The strategy I created covered: thorough audience analysis, a robust content framework, reactive engagement plans, visual and tone of voice guidelines, community management, and a detailed testing framework.

The most irreplaceable element of your strategy will always be capable and collaborative talent you can rely on to put the graft in.

2015 - PRESENT

Bringing a 35-year-old legacy to life for today’s listeners

THE PROJECT

To promote the 35th anniversary vinyl reissue of Tracy Chapman’s debut album, I led a social-first campaign - designed to honour her legacy and engage a new generation. I built and executed a platform-wide strategy, directed and executed content that earned direct sign-off from Tracy herself.

THE IMPACT

  • Strong early engagement ahead of April 2025 release

  • Global Chart placements including top 5 vinyl chart placements in UK, USA and Aus

WHY ME?

I’ve managed Tracy’s digital presence since 2015, growing her following from zero to 3M+ without her ever using social herself. My Greatest Hits campaign drove #1 Google rankings in 10 countries and front-page BuzzFeed coverage. That foundation and subsequent trust made this successful anniversary campaign possible.

If social media strategy wasn’t necessary or effective, then every already-successful entity would already have millions of followers and views.

THE FA CUP (SOCIALCHAIN)

2019

Putting FA Cup footage in front of as many fans as possible…

THE WHAT:

This global social campaign saw my team build a custom Twitter DM bot which sent instant, live match highlights, and created  tons of social content to publish across YouTube, Instagram and Facebook - including reactive.

I managed the full scope of the campaign, from strategy to distribution and paid support, ultimately ensuring it performed and kept performing throughout the campaign duration.

It was all about getting fans hyped and making sure they had easy access to the best bits of the tournament.

THE WOW: 

Hundreds of millions of people reached across all platforms, with high engagement throughout the tournament. The FA Cup’s engagement rates consistently improved, particularly on Twitter and Instagram. And our video views saw substantial growth and organic engagement spiked on top content, especially during the final stages of the tournament.

Interactivity and novelty can hype and mobilise even the most ‘online’ people who’ve seen it all before.

AMAZON PRIME VIDEO

2020 - 2024

A brand new channel for a newsworthy brand…

THE WHAT:

We launched Prime Video UK on TikTok for the first time - then I had the job of managing its ongoing strategy spanning content and influencer. Our focus was aligning Prime Video with UK pop culture and fandoms - a feat we successfully achieved.

THE WOW: 

  • 0 to 1M followers in 1 year organically
     

  • Over tens of millions of views upon launch.
     

  • Our campaign promoting Prime Video’s second season of Modern Love was TikTok’s first ‘TV’ series.
     

  • It won four industry awards for creativity and engagement, championing LGBTQ+ creators in the process.

High-frequency, trend-driven content paired with strong influencer partnerships can accelerate brand visibility on even the fastest-moving platforms.

COCA-COLA

2020 - 2021

A global brand open to better…

THE WHAT:

I played a key role in the agency pitch that won Coca-Cola’s global social business. From there, I led the creative on several campaigns, including the #OpenToBetter activation, a global initiative centred on New Year’s resolutions printed on Coca-Cola cans.

 

The campaign spanned hero talent (Katy Perry) and regional influencers, a gamified Instagram experience, and a high volume of creative - from reactive memes to UGC to day-to-day brand content. All executions were supported by detailed localisation toolkits for regional teams.

THE WOW: 

Delivered a cohesive global campaign across multiple territories, platforms and talent tiers. Successfully bridged culture, creativity and community,  with standout engagement in key EMEA and LATAM markets.

Big brands don’t need to feel slow. With the right creative structure, even global campaigns can be culturally reactive, talent-driven and made for social.

JAMESON WHISKEY

2023

A social-first foundation for the world’s most shared spirit…

THE WHAT:

As social media lead, I co-created and delivered a global social playbook for Jameson Whiskey. The aim? To elevate Jameson into a Premium Passion Brand, and position it as the world’s most shared spirit on social.

Working alongside Social Chain’s Strategy Director, I developed a strategic direction, built out an activation framework, defined platform roles, and set out a scalable approach to amplification.

THE WOW: 

This work became the blueprint for Jameson’s global social presence, shaping the tone, look, and behaviour of the brand across regions.

It also laid the foundation for standout campaigns like Jameson x Dickies, and redefined how day-to-day and reactive content was delivered at scale.

A strong strategic foundation doesn’t just define campaigns,  it empowers global teams to show up consistently, creatively, and culturally across every channel.

OUTtv

2019 - PRESENT

Leading LGBT new media with a world first…

THE WHAT:

I delivered a full end-to-end social media management strategy, turning OUTtv’s television output into paying online subscribers, through trend-focused content, top talent collabs, and smart paid campaigns.

THE WOW: 

  • Grew its TikTok following from 0 to 160K and Instagram from 20K to 60K (OUTtv and OUTflix combined).
     

  • Generated millions of organic impressions monthly.
     

  • Drove subscriptions in the tens of thousands through paid, effectively utilising audiences built from organic content reach.
     

  • Demonstrated the power of aligning content with cultural trends and audience preferences to drive significant growth.
     

  • Collaborated with top-tier talent including Neil Patrick Harris, Stormy Daniels, and Jane Lynch.

My experience managing talent comes in handy when looking to influencer-focused strategies for brands, which has never been more relevant.

I manage and enhance Gabrielle’s digital presence across various platforms, supporting album releases, tours, and ongoing community engagement with fans. I’ve worked closely with her team on promotional designs, website development, social media management, and creative direction.

  • Grew a loyal social fanbase on social, helping Gabrielle foster deeper connections with her audience.
     

  • Delivered freelance social media management for BMG’s 2018 release Under My Skin and collaborated with SJM on paid campaigns for various tours.
